Yoann Guerot
Painter

My name is Yoann Guérot, I am a painter.

Originally from Saint-Barthélémy in the Caribbean, where I worked in various professions, I arrived in Avignon, in the south of France. I joined the academy of arts where I learned painting.  

​

During this training, I notably met a painter who touched me with his abstract paintings and who gave me a taste for this mode of expression.

​

So I developed a great passion for abstract art there because there is infinite freedom. I mainly work in acrylic. I paint the first layers by letting myself be guided by my emotions, I like to play with textures and materials. I then juggle with the colors in order to achieve harmony.

I sometimes make collages, integrate various materials on the canvases. My favorite color is blue, certainly I am influenced by the sky and the Caribbean Sea.

The techniques learned during my training also allow me to produce figurative canvases and portraits.

​

  The creative experience gives me a lot of joy, of accomplishment, this feeling is incomparable. Each new painting is a road to explore, a real emotional explosion!

After these few years spent in the south of France, I returned to my island which inspires me to create new paintings.
